OPEN CALL FOR NARVA VENICE RESIDENCIES

OPEN CALL FOR NARVA VENICE RESIDENCIES

NART announces an open call for two unique art residencies as part of the Narva Venice Embassy project. Deadline for applying is May 31.

NART hosts a rather bold experiment in the summer of 2022 – it opens an embassy in the famous Narva Venice and will have two “diplomatic” places for artists. The two artists will be living at the boat garage next to the canals. The residencies have financial support in producing an artistic intervention on the site.

Two residents will be able to spend the summer in a unique Narva commune – Kulgu, which is also called Narva Venice. This channel-riddled area is known as a very busy summer spot. The locals are spending time fishing, working in their gardens and enjoying the hot Estonian summer. The aim is to do something good for the community, to make Kulgu more noticeable and attractive, and to get to know the locals and develop good relationships with them. But most importantly, the aim is to give a chance to two creatives to be inspired by this special place so that they could create artistic interventions that change things for the better.

The open call will last for two weeks, and the deadline is 31st of May.
The winners will be picked by a jury.
