The summer residency programme of the NART Narva Venice Embassy is now in full swing.
Throughout July, French-Belgian artist Marilyne Grimmer has led kite-making workshops, where participants created kites carrying symbols and messages. Local residents and visitors of Kulgu took part in the workshops. This Sunday, July 20th at 3.00 PM, a kite parade will take place at the Narva Reservoir (Kulgu).
This year, four artists are participating in the summer residency.
On July 22, sound artist of Spanish origin Javier Mars, who is based in Amsterdam, will arrive at the residency to create a performative walk using found objects and collected stories, along with Estonian artist Hildegard Reimann, who explores inter-species relationships.
On August 10, Austrian landscape architect and artist David Biegl will arrive in Narva to design a public space in Narva Venice that emphasizes the unique features of the Kulgu district.
