NART is located in a 19th century neogothic villa, which was first build for the director of the Kreenholm factory. This remarkable building is an important of the NART residency experience and continues to impress our visitors. But old buildings need extra care, and we are happy that the EU Just Transition Fund is supporting the next steps of its renovation which will be executed by Tallbuild OÜ and BBK OÜ. All windows and the main door will be replaced, and several other essential works will be carried out.
The renovation last from February to mid-July, and our modus operandi during this period will be different than usual — after the current exhibition, we will temporarily close our gallery halls. We will be able to accept fewer art residents and we will accommodate them in other spaces. At some point, we will move our public events also elsewhere. We will keep you informed of all changes through our communication channels, and we hope for the understanding of our audience. In the fall, we will be glad to see you in the renovated villa of the Kreenholm director.
