Narva Art Residency continues its series of Art Club meetings, which began in the autumn of 2024. On four Saturdays, artists and art enthusiasts are invited to take part in lectures and workshops on culture and art history. The meetings will be held in Russian and are intended for those who wish to advance on their creative journey and can attend all four sessions.
To participate in the Art Club, you must submit your application by October 31.
Selected participants will receive an Art Club card, which will be stamped at each meeting. Those who collect four stamps will be invited to a free group art trip to Tartu at the end of the series.
Participation will be confirmed after the application period has ended.
Schedule of meetings:
▶︎ On November 8 at 15.00, DAVID VSEVIOV will speak to the audience. He is the author of the popular radio show“Mysterious Russia,” which has been on air for 20 years, and an emeritus professor at the Estonian Academy of Arts. He lectures students on history and art. In Narva, he will also talk about the role of culture in society, and the lecture is open to everyone.
▶︎ On November 22 at 15.00, the open lecture will focus on the composer Arvo Pärt, who celebrated his 90th birthday, and his creative work. Where did his journey begin? What is tintinnabuli? The lecture will be given by HELE-MAI POOBUS, head and editor of the Creative Residency at the Arvo Pärt Centre.
▶︎ On December 6 at 15.00, Narva-based artist and photographer TANYA MURAVSKAYA will lead the session. The workshop will focus on photographing art – both in the studio and in the context of an exhibition. Registered participants are welcome to bring their artworks, which will be photographed during the workshop.
▶︎ On December 13 at 15.00, artist ANNA SHKODENKO will lead a workshop on what an artist’s portfolio is, how to prepare it, and why it matters. Registered participants are encouraged to bring their own portfolios to receive practical feedback.
