NART Art Club: A conversation with Zimbabwean artist Miriro Mwandiambira

NART Art Club: A conversation with Zimbabwean artist Miriro Mwandiambira

We invite everyone interested in contemporary art to a meeting of the NART Art Club, which will take place at the Narva Art Residency on Sunday, February 1, at 2:00 PM. The conversation will be accompanied by simultaneous translation into Russian.

At this meeting, NART resident artist from Zimbabwe, Miriro Mwandiambira, will talk about herself and her project in Narva. In her artistic practice, she works with textiles and explores questions related to the role of women and domestic life.

During the next month and a half in Narva, the artist plans to hold a series of workshops focused on working with textiles—curtains, clothing, and other household fabrics that carry personal memories. Through these activities, a collective textile installation will be created collaboratively. However, this is not a sewing class or an art course. It is a space for calm communication, trust, and harmonious coexistence—such as is possible in a city with a layered history like Narva. You will be able to learn more about these plans directly from the artist at one of the upcoming meetings.

The event will take place in an informal format, with the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers. You are also welcome to simply come and listen. Everyone is invited, regardless of age or previous experience in the field of art.

All guests will be offered hot tea and delicious cookies! To participate, please register here: https://forms.gle/jc6KACA41VPy5Nz17
