The artists presenting work for Kreenholm Ceremonies will be:

Tuhmat
Artist duo Tuhmat (Finland) will present Kreenholm 1856–2010 followed by silence, an experimental sound performance in one of the abandoned factory halls. By playing the building with objects found from Kreenholm, Tuhmat carves out the acoustic space of the enormous, now silent halls. Through an universal ritual, ceremony of sound, life returns momentarily to Kreenholm. For one day Kreenholm will yell and sigh again.

Weronika Trojańska
Interdisciplinary artist Weronika Trojańska (Poland) will present a new work, a result of Finno-Ugric Creative Residency. “Lament for the Unvoiced” explores the enduring power of Finno-Ugric lament traditions as embodied practices that guide people through life’s thresholds. Drawing on fieldwork, archival recordings, and traditional vocal forms, the project brings lament into the present, engaging with people in Narva and its surroundings. It envisions lament as a practice of care and resilience – a form of a meditative ritual of remembrance, release, and renewal that resonates with today’s emotional and socio-political realities.

Stevie Ronnie
Artist and writer Stevie Ronnie (UK) will present new installation works within the Kreenholm factory buildings that are inspired by his ongoing interest in how language can be translated into multisensory forms. These works will explore how the words we use for love are represented within different cultures, drawing from his own experience of living on the post-industrial borderlands of North East England and his engagement with the community of Narva.
