Kite-making workshop with French-Belgian artist Marilyne

Kite-making workshop with French-Belgian artist Marilyne

Narva Art Residency is pleased to invite everyone to a creative workshop led by French-Belgian visual artist and scenographer Marilyne Grimmer, currently in residence as part of the Narva Venice Embassy program.

This Saturday and Sunday, all are welcome to join hands-on kite-making workshops with boat rides on canals and snacks. No prior experience is required—just curiosity, a good mood, and a desire to connect. Participants will create unique kites while sharing stories, exploring colors and symbols, and reflecting on their relationship to the river.

The event is free

Where?
The workshop takes place in Kulgu, at the former Kreenholm pump station. Address: Remmelga 8

Location

In case of heavy rain, the workshop may be moved to Narva Art Residency, Joala 18

When?
– Saturday, July 12 at 15:30
– Sunday, July 13 at 15:30

You can join once or both times. If you can’t make it at these times, let us know—Marilyne will be available all weekend.

Who is it for?
Children, adults, families, friends—everyone is welcome!

Please let us know if you’re coming via phone or email (contact details below).

The workshop will culminate in a festive river parade on the weekend of July 19 or 20 (exact date and time to be confirmed), where the handmade kites will be flown from boats on the Narva River. We are looking for boat captains to join! If you have a boat—or know someone who does—please get in touch. Support with permits and fuel costs is available.
