18.10 Curator’s tour of the exhibition “Threads of Kinship”

On Saturday, 18 October at 13.30, you are welcome to join the curator’s tour of the Finno-Ugric heritage–inspired fashion exhibition “Threads of Kinship” (HÕIMULÕIM).

The exhibition ´THREADS OF KINSHIP´ is dedicated to fashion inspired by Finno-Ugric heritage. Clothing represents one of the richest dowries from the past, yet the vitality of its traditions and practices depends on how successfully they are reimagined for the present – including their ability to appeal to younger generations. Each new interpretation sows seeds whose sprouts carry symbolic weight, helping to keep heritage alive and enabling the creation of garments enriched with local identity for both today and tomorrow.

The works of designers from nine kindred nations unfold stories of layered meanings, ethical choices, and reflections on what it means to be a Finno-Ugric designer. We hope this exhibition inspires you to make space for heritage-inspired fashion in your daily life, for just as vital as preserving tradition is allowing culture to evolve naturally into the future.

The fashion exhibition “Threads of Kinship” will be open until 11 January 2026.
