Tea Lemberpuu | “Kunstnikud on kohal”

30.03 – 10.04.2026

Tea Lemberpuu is an artist working with painting, cameraless photography, and ceramics. Her work revolves around questions of time and slowness, boundaries and chance, visibility and disappearance. She is interested in how limitations, repetition, and material processes influence what emerges, often allowing the image to form beyond full control. In her recent exhibition, she explored how the sacred might appear in everyday life through connection and love. She holds a BA in Painting (2023) and an MA in Contemporary Art (2025) from the Estonian Academy of Arts. She was awarded the EAA Young Artist Prize and is a member of the Tartu Artists’ Union.

In this residency, we embrace experimentation, error, and chance across different media. We explore how time constraints and unconventional methods reduce control over the outcome, allowing unexpected forms of expression to emerge—without the pressure of producing a “nice drawing.” We also work with photographic paper, where the image is formed through the interaction of light, time, and randomness. This process invites patience, leaves traces, and reveals the temporality of presence. Through improvisational exercises, participants engage their bodies and voices as supportive tools in the creative process. Art becomes a shared language that enables connection, even when we do not share the same native tongue.
