Katrin Tani | “Artists Are Present” (estonia)

Katrin Tani is an Estonian choreographer, dancer and performance artist. Their work focuses on questioning social norms and structures. Katrin intertwines contemporary dance with performance art and interdisciplinary practices to display new ways of looking at dance. She is interested in playing with specific moments and experiences and how they can be explored through a physical lens. Katrin has graduated from London Contemporary Dance School with a Bachelor’s Degree in contemporary dance (2025) and is working as a freelance dance artist in Estonia. 

The idea of the residency is to look at language as a basis of culture through the lens of dance and our roots. Forgetting the barrier of you and me and centering on the idea of US. The focus is on bravery, self-expression and cultural awareness and creating an open space for thinking about our roots as personal family history as well as in dance in a more broad sense.
