Kairi Getman | “Kunstnikud on kohal” (Estonia)

30.03 – 12.04.2026

Kairi Getman is a textile and fashion artist whose practice focuses on the relationships between material, time, and trace. She works with natural dye processes and eco-print techniques, examining how repetition, constraints, and the properties of materials shape the emergence of form and tonality. Her work moves between textile and garment, addressing themes of memory and heritage through, environmentally conscious approach. Kairi Getman graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in Textile (BA, 2015) and Fashion Design (MA, 2020). She is the recipient of the Mari Adamson Scholarship for the best textile student (2015).

During the residency, we will work with fresh plants as well as dried leaves and pinecones. We will experiment with leaf printing, simple plant dyeing, and eco-print on paper and cotton. The sessions are structured as studio classes: observation and visual research, pair and group experiments, process documentation, reflections, and short presentations. At the end of the course, a temporary collaborative wall tapestry will be created.
