David Biegl (aka Kasperkovitz) ⎜Venice (Austria)
10.08 – 22.08.2025
David Biegl is an Austrian landscape architect and socially engaged artist working under the name David Kasperkovitz. David creates experimental public installations that encourage community dialogue and spatial co-creation. His focus lies on participatory and collective processes, whether it is a temporary (urban) space or a public installation. His years of experience have helped him form a strong belief that artistic implementations and/or spatial interventions always require the participation and acknowledgment of neighbours, inhabitants or people living in the area in order to leave meaningful changes behind.
For the Narva Venice Embassy, he will present ASSEMBLAGE / THE GATHERING POINT — a buoyant reinterpretation of the Litfaßsäulen (advertising columns) and maritime markers, transformed into a floating meeting point in the Kulgu canals. The sculpture is meant as a starting point to highlight and celebrate the unique neighbourhood. As a permanent addition, it requires the active participation of the people living in the Kulgu canals after his departure and it will become a meeting place for physical encounters and social exchange.
