Annika Sellik | “Artists Are Present” (estonia)

Annika Sellik is an artist having her focus on reflections on sound, perception and resonance and to practices related; she is often working with field-recording, embodying a form of spatial and site-sensible audio installations and/or environment interactions. Among other her practice is varied and socially alert based on speculative research and perception, using radical care taking, observing and listening as tools for silent activism and research; manifesting in subtle transformations or interpretations of spaces rather than using space as a context to show her work; avoiding violent interaction and asking for time and presence to communicate striving towards reciprocal living.

The aim of the school-based art residencies “Artists Are Present” program is to increase the accessibility and presence of contemporary art in Narva. The project is supported by the British Council.
