Louisa Marie Summer (Germany )

Louisa Marie Summer took part in the “Border Walks” residency in Narva, where she photographed local residents and everyday life while exploring social and cultural borders in the Estonian–Russian border region. At the Narva Art Residency she focused mainly on intimate portraits and scenes from people’s own environments, creating a photographic series that was later shown in the exhibition “Border Walks” at the Tallinn Photo Museum. She chose a respectful, close observational approach rather than overt political imagery, documenting personal stories that often remained unspoken because of language barriers and sensitivity around the border context.
