Camille Laurelli (France)

01.10 – 31.10.2016

Camille Laurelli lives in Estonia and is already known to the Estonian public. Camille Laurelli started as a photographer but has now moved on to combining various fields of Art. He is also developing a reflection on the value of Art itself in a world of expanding technologies.

In 2016 Camille Laurelli took part in the “Border Walks” residency in Narva, where he investigated issues of integration and freedom of speech through personal contact with Estonian and Russian-speaking residents, exploring the psychological and political borders between them. During the residency he created photographic work in Narva that was later exhibited at the Estonian Photographic Art Fair and in the exhibition “Walks alongside Borders” in Tallinn.

In 2022 Camille Laurelli co-curated the video games museum as part of Narva Art Residence’s “VGA” (Video Games and Arts) project, which combined retro video games with contemporary art exhibitions. He helped present an interactive collection of classic game consoles in the residency’s basement as part of the project’s exhibition and public programme.

Exhibition “LVLup! WarpZone” was produced in partnership with the British Council under the People to People Cultural Engagement program.
